Derek's Story
James Derek Chitty knew he prayed his last prayer on the evening of March 4, 2016. "Thank you, God, for a good life."
Derek prayed his prayer in the flash of reality he found himself. A piercing sound of metal on metal. The furious tumble on pavement. The crushing underbelly of an automobile. His motorcycle lay distant from where his body eventually stopped. Derek thought for certain these were his last words.
Irving's Story
Irving Gamez was born in Brownsville, Texas and spent the first 12 years of his life living in Mexico. At the age of 12, Irving’s family moved to Terrell, Texas, where he still lives today. He grew up with 2 sisters and a brother. Irving is engaged to a lovely girl named Christina, who he has been with for 8 years now. He was quoted saying, “She (Christina) is my backbone, my rock, my everything, and thanks to her, I am able to be here today”. She stood by him through the darkest part of his life.
Krystal's Story
Krystal is a strong young woman. She works as a resident baker at White Rock Coffee, where she blesses people with her artistic talents, creativity, and delicious treats. Her goal is to live a happy and healthy life. She is 25 years old and recently married.
For seven years, Krystal has been battling cancer, and she has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer….again.
